Today marked the end of our big remodel project. Except for a few odds and ends, it is complete. In all, we enlarged the upstairs adding windows and a full bath, remodeled both downstairs bathrooms, remodeled the family room to include storage, installed two new hvac units, installed wall mounts for TVs in the family room and bedroom, and corrected a serious leak in the sunroom. It's funny how long and slow the time seems when you're in the middle of such a project, but how quickly it seems to have passed once its done.
But now the real work (for me anyway) begins. All the stuff that I packed up in boxes to get out of the house for the remodel to begin, has to be dealt with. All the stuff that had to be removed from the bathrooms sits in boxes and drawers wanting to return home. There are books and doo-dads and bric-a-brac that needs to find a place to be placed. There's stuff in the dining room and in the bedroom and the living room - all stuff that came from other rooms that have now been declared clean. Three boxes of stuff are now upstairs waiting to be put away. Unfortunately, they are only being added to the boxes of stuff already up there that needs to be sorted.
One day, hopefully before Christmas, everything will be settled and I can just enjoy my new digs. Maybe I can even Christmas shop in all the boxes of stuff - I know some people that are perfect for some of that boxed
crap trove of treasures!!
