It was just another Saturday at the Doik, watching 692 episodes of "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" with Lindley and Everley. Well, it was just another Saturday until somebody started talking about the weather and mentioned the word "storm." Lindley hates and is frightened by anything related to storms and goes into full panic mode at the mere mention of the word. Which meant some serious backpedaling needed to get cranked up so that she would calm down (there was no storm in sight - we were mostly speculating about the possibility of storms on Sunday). Anyhow, after talking about rain and no storms and Disney World (as needs to be discussed in as many conversations as possible), Lindley was convinced that there was not going to be any hazardous weather in her immediate future. And Jake continued his question for golden doubloons.
It reminded me that sometimes I get all flustered and discombobulated over things that haven't happened - but that I perceive might happen. I waste a lot of time calming myself down when there really was nothing to be upset about in the first place. So maybe next time I'll remember a certain three-almost four-year old and her responses. And then maybe I'll calm down and go back to searching for my own golden doubloons.

Today was a great day because: Lindley and Everley time; Nissan dealership run with Mathieu and Sam; watching "Elf" with the girls; watching MSU football on TV, even though they didn't win; CB dinner with the Ms & E and S & L
