So today we left Vancouver headed for Alaska. The day was very foggy and we only had a few
clear hours midday. As always, the views
are stunning and so peaceful.
Our tablemates are (I am unsure about the spellings): Hi,
Way, and Z (Way and Z are women, and we think Hi and Way are married); and
Mike, Sue (they are married) and their adult daughter Sophie, who are from England. It’s sort of a mixed group, but we manage to
chat with each other.
Molly, Charity, and I have found our peeps – people that
we saw on Embarkation Day and keep seeing around the ship. Mine are a couple and the man did the Disneyland
Half Marathon (as evidenced by the medals we carried the first day). He always looks a little puzzled ….
Molly’s peeps are the family who took our picture for us
while we all were waiting to board, and the young couple who are on their first
Disney cruise and are super-excited to be on the cruise. And they talk – a lot.
Charity’s peeps are the Dippy Dog and their momma
Dizzy. Here are their descriptions; while waiting to board, Dippy kept a bottle close
so he could spit his dip into it (seriously).
Unfortunately he was just two seats away from Charity. He was also wearing a “Southern by the grace
of God” t-shirt. And when we saw him
dressed up for dinner, he had on a suit – and his camo cap. He is of adult age and so is his brother. Mama Dizzy carries a cane and looks like she
ain’t gonna take no mess off nobody. So
even though I think Molly and Charity should meet them, they won’t take me up
on it.
Anyhow, it’s been a great
start to the cruise. We’ve dined at Palo
for brunch, attended the DVC and Castaway Cay reception, taken a nap or two,
and Charity saw some whales. And no, it
wasn’t me napping on the deck chair!

Today
was a great day because: We got laundry
done; we had a great meal and server in Palo; we got surprises and passed our
surprises for the FE exchange; we chatted with our table mates; Charity saw
whales; we won the tv tunes trivia game!
