Giants, Cows, and Fun!

Today started with KB and me padding down the street in our pjs (mind you, we are old and sleep in the same clothes we can wear during the day - sweats and t-shirts) to Walgreens to get some stuff (like sunscreen and cold meds).  Of course, being Labor Day, the Walgreens wasn't open yet, so we decided to tour the neighborhood.  We filed away restaurant locations in our brains (probably never to be remembered again).  We padded back to the condo to get ready for our next adventure - the Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game.

We decided to walk downtown before the game, so we headed in that direction, again making note of restaurants to be added to the already forgotten brain restaurant file.  We went in the Ross store (recommended by our condo's owner) and were quickly overwhelmed by the variety and quality of merchandise - let's just say that it's good we have no extra room in our suitcases!  We closed our mouths and left the store, headed to the ball game.

Of course, by the time we got to the ball park, we were starving, so we immediately went for burgers/dogs/garlic fries, which we wolfed down as if we had just returned from the wilderness.  Unfortunately, we immediately went into food coma, and really needed to lie down and nap, but the people in the seats adjoining ours did not look like they would appreciate our heads in their laps, so we attempted to keep our eyes open and our bodies upright.  The good news is that is was time for the game to begin!

The Giants got out to an early lead, but started to lose it in the 5th inning (which apparently is common, according to the baseball-loving dudes who were sitting behind us).  At the top of the 6th, we decided it was time to get up and walk around the stadium - which was easier said than done, once we started getting our half-marathon legs to unfold and get us mobile again.  Somehow we managed to move and walked around AT&T Park, and it was lovely.

We got a few pictures.  Missy-Moo (our 3-Day mascot) wanted a picture by the Giants pitcher for today and by the boats and with her two handlers - oh, and yes, it was windy - but of course, we like that "wind-blown" hair style.

Upon our return to the condo, KP had arrived, so we hung around a bit and then headed out for dinner.  Of course, nobody had a preference, so by matter of elimination, we ended up at some steak house (think Ruth Chris/Flemings/Stoney River).  Thinking we were going to each pay our own way, I decided to order a filet, a side, a dessert, and whatever else I wanted.  I should have known these two tricksters - when the check arrived, they both practically tackled our waiter to make sure they paid for it - they said it was for my birthday last month.  By that time, I was pretty much into food coma #2, so I was just trying to decide if I was going to be able to walk, much less fight over the bill.  We waddled back home with a Whole Foods stop before collapsing again in bed.  I don't think I've been to bed so early since 3rd grade.

Anyhow, tomorrow is Alcatraz - just hoping they don't keep us locked up there!
