My personal fave - "The Fisher King" |
Robin was an amazing talent and apparently a really nice guy. He wasn't perfect, and had many of the same hangup we all have, or might have. But somewhere along his life, he made millions happy, just by being who he was or who he could be in any given role.
I'll miss Robin the Actor and Robin the Comedian and Robin the Public Figure. I wish that Robin the Private Person hadn't had the dark moments that ultimately led to his decision to leave it all. Ultimately it was his decision, and he made it.
But the most important thing to remember, and to learn, is the impact that he had on so many lives. Certainly his entertainment career touched millions. But his philanthropic work, his donation of his time and money, his kindness and compassion will remain and touch millions more.
His life was just one life - but it touched us all. And maybe that's the final lesson we should all listen to - that our life may be just one life, and although we may not be famous, we can still touch another life and make it better.
